The REACH regulation, or regulation EC No. 1907/2006, is a regulation of the European Union with the intention of ensuring a high level of protection for human health and the environment. REACH means Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals.

The REACH regulation regulates the handling and further information in the supply chain of hazardous substances manufactured in the EU and imported into the Union. The dissemination of information takes place inter alia through safety data sheets, the form and content of which are also described in the REACH regulation. In addition to the collection of information, there are regulations on the multi-stage process of restricting the use of substances.
