The REACH Regulation, or Regulation EC No. 1907/2006 is a regulation of the European Union with the intention to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. The REACH Regulation controls the handling of hazardous substances produced in the European Union or imported into the Union, as well as the information transmitted about them in the supply chain. Information is transmitted, among others, through the safety data sheets whose format and contents are also described in the REACH Regulation. In addition to information collection, there are also regulations on the multi-level process restricting the use of substances.
