The operating instruction in accordance with the Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances (TRGS) 555 is a document which contains the hazards and the handling of hazardous substances which are present or arise at the respective workplace. Operation-specific instructions are also included. The target is to provide written information to employees in an understandable format and language. The employer is responsible for the creation and provision of operating instructions. When an operating instruction is required and in which format it must be provided is described in the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (GefStoffV) and the associated TRGS 555.
