Smart Dashboard
Your central gateway to GeSi4
Open GeSi4 and see right away where you stand. The dashboard shows you the status of your hazardous materials management, recently edited documents, and important queries at a glance. This helps you get back to your current tasks more quickly and keep track of key information.
SDBcheck®
Read Safety Data Sheets Instead of Typing Them Out
Upload your PDF safety data sheet. SDBcheck® automatically extracts the relevant data and transfers it to GeSi4. You can then review and confirm the information before using it as the basis for your hazardous substance management.
Safety Data Sheet Management
Manage MSDSs centrally and keep them up to date
GeSi4 centrally manages your safety data sheets with version control and custom review intervals. If a safety data sheet is out of date, you can request a new version directly from the supplier. In addition, changes are highlighted in the version comparison, ensuring that updates remain traceable.
List of hazardous substances
Systematically Record Hazardous Substances
Your hazardous substance data is imported into a central hazardous substance registry. There, you assign substances to the appropriate workstations and storage locations, enter quantities, and keep track of what is being used or stored where. This creates a clear foundation for your company’s hazardous substance management.
Smart Queries
Filter specifically and analyze results faster
With smart queries, you can analyze hazardous substance data in a targeted manner. For example, you can more quickly identify CMR substances, substances relevant to maternal protection, or hazardous substances that pose a fire or explosion risk. You can also save important queries as favorites and access them directly from the dashboard.
Hazardous substance risk assessment
Assess Hazards in a Transparent Manner
GeSi4 guides you step by step through the hazard assessment for hazardous substances based on the STOP principle and the EMKG. In the process, you examine substitution options, evaluate hazards, and determine appropriate protective measures. The results can then be documented in a transparent manner and incorporated into the operating instructions.
Operating instructions
Automatically Generate Operating Instructions
GeSi4 automatically generates operating instructions from existing hazardous substance data and risk assessments. You can then review and edit the content in the editor and customize it using templates that already specify the layout, design, and certain content. Standard and consolidated operating instructions, as well as AI-powered translation into over 34 languages, are already on the roadmap and will also be part of the feature set.
Hazardous Materials Portals
Provide targeted information
With hazardous materials portals, you can provide relevant information in a targeted manner—for example, to employees or authorized customers. You decide which workstations, storage locations, and content are visible. This gives authorized individuals quick access to safety data sheets, operating instructions, and risk assessments without accidentally altering the content.
User Management
Clearly Control Access
With user management, you can assign roles and access rights that align with your company's structure. You can specify who is allowed to view content and who is allowed to edit it. This ensures that responsibilities are clearly defined and sensitive areas are protected.
GeSi4 GefStoff-Profi
GeSi4 GefStoff-Profi is the new generation of software from GeSi for companies that want to manage hazardous substances digitally, in a structured manner, and via a web browser. Safety data sheets form the central database: They are used to generate hazardous substance inventories, risk assessments, and operating instructions, all the way through to the provision of relevant information via hazardous substance portals.
The application was developed from the ground up and combines the technical expertise from GeSi³ with a new browser-based architecture. GeSi4 is available as both a SaaS and an on-premises solution and continues to evolve step by step during the Early Access phase.
GeSi4 was developed from the ground up as browser-based expert software. You'll work in a new user interface and can use GeSi4 as either a SaaS or on-premises solution, depending on your needs.
It works in a browser, regardless of the device you're using—whether you're in the office, working from home, or on the go. There's no need for a local installation on individual workstations. GerSi4 can be deployed as a SaaS solution or run on your own IT infrastructure.
GeSi4 consolidates the data from your safety data sheet, the hazardous substances inventory, and the risk assessment into a single workflow and automatically generates operating instructions for you based on that information.
Existing substance data, activities, exposures, and protective measures form a common thread for your hazardous substance management. You avoid duplicate data entry, reduce data inconsistencies, and can create operating instructions that are more closely aligned with the actual work process.
GeSi4 helps you systematically map hazardous substances, locations, quantities, risk assessments, and operating instructions in a single application and document them in a manner that meets audit requirements.
Information on hazardous substances is not only documented in a legally compliant manner, but is also made available where it is needed. Through hazardous substance portals, employees can view relevant safety data sheets, operating instructions, and other information specific to their location.
From safety data sheets to operating instructions
With GeSi4, you can manage hazardous substance data step by step: Safety data sheets are processed digitally, relevant information is transferred to the hazardous substances inventory, and then supplemented with activities, exposures, and protective measures in the hazardous substances risk assessment.
This creates a consistent framework for your hazardous substance management. Substance data, activities, exposures, and protective measures are not maintained separately in Excel spreadsheets and individual documents, but are systematically consolidated in GeSi4 and carried through to the operational instructions.

Is GeSi4 a SaaS or on-premises solution?
GeSi4 can be deployed as a cloud solution or SaaS solution, or it can be operated within your own IT infrastructure. In both cases, users access the system via a web browser. A local installation on individual workstations is not necessary.
Can I switch from SaaS to on-premises later?
Yes, it is possible to switch from SaaS to on-premise at a later date. Please contact our sales team in advance so that we can review your requirements and provide you with a suitable migration proposal.
Is it also possible to access GeSi4 via a group or functional email address?
No. GeSi4 is specifically designed to use personalized user accounts. This is primarily for security reasons: access, responsibilities, and changes must remain clearly traceable.
This is not a reliable option for group or functional addresses (e.g., info@firma.de). If multiple people share a single account, it becomes impossible to clearly determine later who made which changes. Furthermore, this increases the security risk because passwords would have to be shared internally and reassigned whenever there is a change in personnel.
With individual accounts, employees can still collaborate on the same documents. In addition, roles and permissions can be assigned in a targeted manner. This also supports our commitment to information security: GeSi Software operates in accordance with ISO 27001 .
At SDBcheck® , personal user accounts are also assigned to a shared company account.
Will data from the testing phase or Early Access be retained?
Yes. Data that you enter in GeSi4 during the trial phase or Early Access will be retained and can continue to be used. This means you won’t have to recreate content that has already been created. In addition, new features will be added gradually through automatic updates during Early Access.
What happens to my data during updates?
The data you've already entered will be preserved. This allows you to seamlessly take advantage of updates and continue working with the expanding range of features without having to re-enter your existing content.
Should existing GeSi³ customers switch directly to GeSi4?
We generally recommend that existing GeSi³ customers wait a while before switching. This ensures that a feature set comparable to GeSi³ is available and that data migration is in place.
For users of GefStoff-Profi, the transition is currently scheduled to take place between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. Users of other product lines will have to wait a little longer. We will publish the relevant dates and further information regarding the migration in due course.
Which product is a better fit for my needs: GeSi³ or GeSi4?
That depends on your current situation. GeSi³ GefStoff-Profi is particularly well-suited if you want to start working right away with a proven, expert-grade solution that offers a wide range of features and established processes.
