GeSi³ GefStoff-Profi

The proven expert solution for professional hazardous materials management

GeSi³ GefStoff-Profi supports companies that want to manage hazardous substances in a productive manner, with in-depth technical expertise and using established processes. The software integrates key work steps, ranging from safety data sheets and the hazardous substances inventory to risk assessments, operating instructions, and information provided to employees.

REACH & Current Events: A Look at

GeSi³ GefStoff-Profi helps you view REACH-related information, safety data sheets, SVHC status, and update requirements right where you manage your hazardous substances. This makes it easier to track compliance checks and follow-up tasks.

Your advantage

Relevant information is available right where you manage your hazardous materials anyway.

Continue to implement hazardous-substance processes
throughout the entire process

Based on the safety data sheet, GeSi³ carries out key work steps: data import, hazardous substances inventory, risk assessment, operating instructions, and evaluation are all integrated in a technically coherent manner.

Your advantage

Data on hazardous substances does not need to be maintained multiple times in different lists and documents. You work with a single database and can reuse, review, update, and document relevant information step by step in a traceable manner.

Provide targeted information

Safety data sheets, operating instructions, and other information on hazardous substances can be made available to specific employees or customers. This is particularly relevant for locations, departments, and service provider processes.

Your advantage

Safety data sheets, operating instructions, and other information on hazardous substances can be found more quickly. Employees and customers are granted targeted access to the information they need for their specific areas of responsibility.

How to Use GeSi³ GefStoff-Profi

Importing custom substance lists to identify hazardous substances based on specific ingredients

Do you receive substance lists specific to your industry—such as lists of prohibited substances—for which you must demonstrate compliance? With a single click, you can check whether the hazardous substances you use contain any substances from that list as ingredients.

EMKG Assistant for Hazard Assessment of Hazardous Substances

GeSi³ has integrated the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s “Simple Measures Concept”: Simply determine inhalation, dermal, and physicochemical hazards—including risk visualization and recommended measures—based on hazardous substance exposure and a small amount of hazardous substance data.

Operating Instructions for Hazardous Substances, Including Group and Collective Operating Instructions

GeSi³ generates standardized operating instructions for hazardous substances based on the hazardous substance data, using your custom operating instruction template if desired. Group operating instructions can also be generated automatically using a wizard.

Standard Operating Procedures for Various Workstations

Operating instructions for a hazardous substance and different workstations are still operating instructions! This simplifies data maintenance and is very easy to implement by automatically populating the operating instructions header with workplace data and automatically generating individual PDF documents—with location-specific data, if desired.

Using CLP, ASR, and Custom Pictograms in Operating Instructions

When creating operating instructions, all legally required pictograms are available for custom placement (by section, on the left, right, or centered). Custom pictograms can also be integrated.

Templates for Customizing the Layout of Operating Instructions

For a uniform appearance of your operating instructions, work with a template that reflects your desired layout (e.g. frame color, QM footer, logo) and contains company-specific standard formulations or pictograms in certain fields.

Determination of Occupational Health Screening Examinations

You can easily find out which hazardous substances require which occupational health screenings by running a query. You can filter the results by workplace or storage location.

Substance-Specific Threshold Limits (Occupational Exposure Limits / Biological Limit Values)

GeSi³ determines the current occupational exposure limits and biological limit values based on the constituents of a hazardous substance and reports them as part of the hazardous substance risk assessment. Constituents are automatically identified by their CAS or EC number!

Visualization of Prohibitions on Storing Certain Items Together

Prohibitions on co-storage in accordance with TRGS 510 can be displayed based on the storage class, either specifically for a storage section or individually for selected hazardous substances. Storage classes can also be determined.

For Facility Operators: Determination of the Operating Range in Accordance with the Major Accidents Ordinance

Based on your individual operating structure and the maximum storage quantities, GeSi³ calculates whether it is a lower or upper class operating area and thus provides an interface to plant safety.

Task-Based Email Sending

In GeSi³, emails can be sent automatically for various tasks, such as bulk emails requesting new versions of safety data sheets. There are numerous configuration options. The email function uses the general GeSi³ address book. When using the email task, all emails are displayed in a preview before being sent and can be edited again.

Managing Hazardous Materials Tasks as “Scheduled Tasks”

Create tasks such as the creation of the intranet portal or the export of certain queries as an Excel file as a scheduled task so that they are executed automatically at a specific time.

FAQ

Interesting facts about the GefStoff-Profi

Are supplier safety data sheets read in automatically?

Can the list of hazardous substances be published company-wide?

Yes, with GeSi³ you can create a linked intranet hazardous substances directory —the so-called intranet portal: The hazardous substances directory can then be accessed company-wide for read-only access via a browser; it contains links to retrieve the original supplier safety data sheets and the hazardous substances operating instructions.

What must be included in a hazardous substances register?

A hazardous substances inventory shows where specific hazardous substances are used and stored. It must list the trade name, the safety data sheet version, and the hazard characteristics (GHS pictograms, H-phrases, P-phrases, GHS hazard classes). In addition, the locations (workstations/storage areas) and the average consumption/stock levels are displayed. The GeSi³ Hazardous Substances Directory contains all required data as well as additional information, such as the storage class (LGK) and water hazard class (WGK).

Can storage bans be visualized?

Yes, storage compatibility restrictions are automatically determined based on the storage class and displayed in accordance with TRGS 510. If a storage class is not available, it can also be calculated.

We receive lists of materials from our customers that we need to monitor for hazardous substances used in our processes. Can this be done using GeSi³?

Yes, through the so-called individual course lists.

How are safety data sheets stored in the company?

Safety data sheets must be made available to employees upon request. At GeSi³, this is done through a company-wide hazardous substances directory accessible via the intranet. Current supplier safety data sheets (and associated operating instructions) are available directly as attachments for each hazardous substance at
.

What output formats does GeSi³ support?
